    Welcome 85

Others will no doubt chime in and assist you with you Q's I cannot vouch for your rifle but seems strange a BSA would have a 2 groover (never say never though) as my BSA has a 5 groove the O-3 bolt heads go upwards in size as the No's suggest, but every rifle is different so you just cannot replace a 0 with a 1 to tighten up head space because there are lots of other points to ensure it is correct.
There are plenty of threads to view about the bolt heads etc on this site and believe me well worth reading, time consuming yes but there is the knowledge contained there that has been earned by training and hands on experience with the Lee Enfield family and its derivative AKA No.4's.When you can post some pics of the rifle as the forumer's here like pictures and can help identify things that may be missed by the untrained eye.

Have fun and welcome to milsurps

Here is a post I made a couple of years ago - might just help a little

No 4 No5 Bolt Heads (Update)
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

    - can you post any pictures ? can you explain the problems ?
What do you mean "Brass doesnt (common by what info I've gotten here)"
    Brass doesn't do what ?

What ammunition are you using ? Are they reloads ?

I'm with the Captain - x85's written language may be of extraterrestrial origin - or possibly a product of the U.S. "educational" system. If English isn't his native tongue, however, he gets a free pass.

Here's a translation of post 5 for all of you who can't make any sense of it.
When he bought the rifle he was told that it was manufactured by BSA
    1, the bolt s/n doesn't match the receiver s/n
2, case life is short. As he understands it, according to what he's read here, it's a common thing.
3,when he shoots the rifle the cases split
4,theres no markings on the rifle to indicate who the manufacturer was and he'd like to know why. Adds that it has lots of numbers
Next he expresses his thanks for the welcome he received in posts 2 and 3.
He finishes up by saying he has lots of #4's, a Savage, a LB, A '43 FAZ that was FTR'd in '54 and a couple of the mummy wrapped Irish contract rifles, one of which he has removed the wrap from, cause he had too. And finally he says thanks. End of translation...............
