    Found some rifle chest???

    FOUND SOME RIFLE CHEST???
    NOT SURE WHAT THESE WERE FOR.
    WHAT THEY COULD BE WORTH?
    FOUND A DOZEN OF THESE IN AN OLD GUN SHOP THAT HAS BEEN CLOSED FOR OVER 6 YEARS, THEY WERE GIVEN TO ME AS PART OF PAYMENT FOR HAULING AWAY THE TRASH LEFT IN BUILDING.
    THEY ARE MARKED
    CHEST S.A. AUST. NO1.MK2 AN NO3 MK2

    not sure if all parts are in side each one yet some of the hings are rusted up real good. so each one go a good coating of croil. better to be safe than sorry i am not in a hurry to break anything. so far one i did get open had bottom racks.

    Look good it has nice markings on it.

    I am after a one with good markings and hopefully still containing the dividers.

    well i have to get the rest of them open an see whats inside as some make alot of noise when moved around, like some small items shifing around. i do know i am going to keep a few an then decide what to sell or trade others off for.

    Peter if that case is full as you say i will have to give them all away as they would not fit into my collection of misfit rifles an gear.

    I sold two just like them a couple of years ago. The new owner is going to restore them. He posts here from time to time so maybe he'll chime in with his progress.

    well i am tring to find out still whats in side them. hinges are realy locked up. been soaking them with Koril. did manage to get one open it has 2 wooden dividers in it. also seam like a tar like substance is all around the top lip. which is making metal lids also stick. i do know i am only going to keep 2 of the chest an either sell or trade off the others. 2 are already spoken for i think. just got to fiqurie out a reasonable price.???
