A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Looks like something a blacksmith made for a local veterinarian. I think she started her life as an air rifle. The bottom tube and handle remind me of some sort of pump action like the Benjamin Air Rifle. Can you make some more pictures of the bolt/action area? Is there a firing pin?

I believe that it was a made up rifle. Packs a wallop! The bolt is flat where it enters the breech. On back on the bolt is a small metal rod the catches on the release and cocks it.

You can also cock the bolt release by hand if you push that little medal rod to the side.

Lots of welding on the tubes but they look like a good job. I will try yo take some images of the breech etc.. Stock wood looks like walnut
I keep warning my friends that i am going to find the proper equipment for it and take it deer hunting! LOL.
