Question about posting commercial link in signature

I have a friend who is a gunsmith who specializes in old firearms including restoration of old firearms. I suggested that he visit this forum.

Would there be a problem with him including a link to his business website in his posts?

    thanks,

    Ed

You're friend is more then welcome, however, it would be discourteous for him to promote his personal commercial business, when we have a paid "banner" advertising program available for that purpose.

Besides my wife and I personally, that paid advertising program, along with the support of other gracious Contributing Members, bear the entire costs of site operations using a dedicated host server attached to high network bandwidth, which guarantees performance under load and minimizes traffic delays.

    Regards,
    Doug

Thanks. Sorry for being dense, but can you point me to a link about the paid banner advertising program, I can't seem to find it.

I am going to suggest that he get paid advertising here as well as become a part of this community. This is a quality well managed messageboard with intelligent discerning posters--exactly the type of place that he needs to be a part of.

    Thanks,

    Ed
