1897 Field Rifle Co, Birmingham Martini Henry.

Received a pretty unusual MH today, a Field Rifle Co Martini, made in 1897. Seller claimed the rifle was brought back from the middle east about 25 years ago, he wasn't sure which region. It has seen heavy use, but action is still surprisingly tight. Has Arabian embellishments, and appears to have a small coin embedded in the buttstock. If anyone can translate, that'd be great.. I cannot find a lot of info on FRC MHs, must be a somewhat uncommon maker. Anyway, enjoy the pics!

Check this link for a discussion and address of the company. There are several other FRC threads on this board as well. I believe this 1897 version was a contract filler for one of the Middle East emirs; I saw a handful of these in the bazaars of Afghanistan.
