Need help fitting spike bayonet scabbard button into frog
A spike bayonet and scabbard came with a Long Branch No.5 Mk. 1* Lee Enfield I bought a few weeks ago. I just bought a frog for the bayonet scabbard, How do I get the button on the scabbard into the opening on the frog? Is there some secret or is it brute force?
As a newbie I am a novice on such matters.
Thanks.

I turned the scabbard so the button was on the side then slide the scabbard in. When it was in turned the button back to the front. Was kind of tight but it went on.

That's about right...safest way to do it anyway.

These things have often shrunk a bit over the years. Brute force will often do it.
This type with the single loop and no hilt loop was made for the postwar bowie-blade scabbards, though no doubt earlier patterns were used too.

That is a good point...do you have the right frog? Can you show us a pic?
