    Newbs and Milsurps

Had a chance to take some friends out with me to shoot a handful of milsurps. It was a Russianicon themed day. It was their basally first interaction with firearms and their first milsurp experience. Thought you guys might enjoy some of the footage I took of the day.
    We had 3 SVT-40's, a PU and a WASR 10.

As to newbies and military rifles.
If you want to have some fun with them, give them a "regular" bolt action rifle, say K98icon, '03 or Enfield.
Then the fun starts. After they have learned to work the "regular" rifle, hand them a M95 Steyr! Watching them try to open the bolt and flipping the safety off and on as that will help! After a few minutes with them saying "how do you get it open" you have to take pity on them and say like this, and pull the bolt straight back.
Ah the faces they make. Mean I know.

I held an SVT40 once it's freaking huge. They took a 19th century battle rifle and made it semi automatic.

    Looks like a fun day.

    More newbie fun:

My friend was visiting from Cleveland. He'd never shot a rifle before, although he shoots handguns sometimes.

Nothing like sharing your toys in the sand box. Great video and entertaining.
Question-Would a 91/30 scope fit in a 1" ring? I am looking for something to put on a build,, war time quality but a little cheaper.

Nope. PU scopes have 26.5mm(1.043'') tubes.
