A good year all in all

As far as Enfield's go I've had a good year. First and foremost, I found this forum and started the learning curve - had many question answered. Got told few times for asking dumb questions, but that was a learning for me too. Shot well in a number of service rifle matches throughout the year (and had my best year yet in my Fullbore target shooting pursuits too) Added 2 x Savage No4's to go with my 2 x Matby's. Acquired a nice repop cheek piece and set of reasonable quality mounting pads, and 2 x No 32 scopes (plan to send one of to Fulton's in new year for rebuild - Hope to track down a reasonable repop mount/bracket in the new year so I can start my T copy build in 2015 - fingers crossed) I also added considerably to my stash of mid to late 50's aussie made Mk 7 ball ammo (my favourite 303 ammo) for very little cost. With info from the forum/Mr Laidlericon's articles, I was able to re-instate nice 2 stage trigger pull offs to my favourite Matby. All in all not a bad year all round for me when it comes to Lee Enfield's. Would like to wish a Happy New Year to all forum members and their families. Lets hope 2015 is another good one

5 Hours to go (half way around the world from 'home') A Happy New Year to all Enfielders (as the clock gets around to your location)

Success of this year - landing the L42 with full CES, and case - but it took all of 'newspaper round' money.
Downside - selling the last of my Enforcers.

Investment - My No4T looks as if its made another 33% increase in value this year if the going rate for 4T, Box and full CES is around £4k
Mine are not the best, but they are not too bad. I can think of lots of Enfields I'd rather have but instead of constantly striving for more, sometimes it's good to be satisfied with what one has...

Are you in the Antipodes then Alan?

Mustn't grumble either this year. Started with a lucky find of an Aldis with original H&H mounts, plus another two or three that came in mountless during the year. Also a couple of PPCo's too.

Down side is I felt guilty so let the better PPCo go to fellow forummer Nigel so he can win more comps at Bisley. Also that I've decided that I will have to sell one of my cased L42's to help my 'need a new car by this time next year' fund!

Happy New Year to one & all!

Dunno about a Happy new year, it's started out as an interesting one.
Only the first day and have already purchased two Lithgows..............could be an expensive year.
