    Jim that's the number the guy gave me over the phone. You and I know that sometimes the numbers on Krags can be a little difficult to discern and this guy is 84 years old so perhaps he misread it. I'll see the rifle in person on Friday or Saturday and try to get back to you right away as I'm intending to purchase depending on condition, thanks.

    That IS the correct serial number and the info I've gotten elsewhere indicates 1904 production but they didn't have any specific info on this rifle. Thanks for checking for me.

    I've just found a pic of 482872...interesting. Krags can be a bit of a puzzle though if you don't have a firm handle on them. Maybe you can show this one to us when you get it...
