    My latest Krag

My latest Kragicon just arrived. It is a US model 1899 carbine. The rifle has the correct barrel length and the sights appear correct. No swivels and I found the remnants of a cartouche within a circle behind the trigger guard. The serial number is within proper production years. Best of all this thing has a very nice bore and of course a buttery smooth action as well.

That's a nice Model 1899 Kragicon carbine. Mine is about 5,000 after yours. I restored it over time with original parts.

You have the seldom seen sight cover, we don't get those much up here. Here's mine. I still need a replacement handguard and front sight.

Nice rifles guys. Nice to see these preserved or brought back to life.
Now I have to keep my eyes peeled for a rifle model.

Good luck on that around the Canadianicon shows. I saw an NRA model in great shape without papers a couple years ago but didn't buy it. It went for $450 CDN which would be about right...too bad though.

Yeah, I'm not holding my breath but sometimes things pop up when you least expect them.

You did very well on getting the carbine. I have a rifle, but have not been able to find a correct carbine, just modified rifles.

Yes, apparently one has to be very careful when looking for a carbine in regards to making sure it is correct.
