    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered.     I believe that is sort of spin off of a M1943 sling??? Looks like a reproduction too. The weave just isn't right to me. Never have I seen a web M1907.

    It's a free market. If anyone wants to pay as much for a sling as I did for an all-matching 1943 Garandicon in good shooting condition, then I have a lot of stuff I could sell them and laugh all the way to the bank.

    I think the consensus of opinion is that the sling is a fantasy item. Every one that I have seen was in unissued condition. The colors will vary slightly.

    Hayes Otoupalik had a case of these but for a BAR . I bought one . They were $25 IIRC. The military wanted a web sling to replace the need for leather . Made prob'ly between wars as there was a BAR version , but not adopted . I don't think I've ever seen one in a period photo .
