    Std Pro Range Trip

I was able to make the first range trip with my new Std Pro carbine after putting the proper rear sight on it the other day. I was not expecting great things with a ME of 3+ but this 70 yr old carbine surprised me with it's accuracy. Someone was using the only rest in the place so I shot a few from offhand with scattered results around the outer rings but almost immediately the guy finished so I grabbed it and the centered 3 shots around the orange are the first group I fired for sighting purposes. To say I am pleased with this carbine is an understatement! I did not have to make any adjustments at all except raise my POA juuuust a wee bit. I must have got the sight centered really well when I put it on.

It was indoors at 25 yards. When it gets a little warmer I can take it to a nearby outdoor range a little farther away from here and try out the 100 yard lane.

That 3 shot group at 25 probably converts to holding the 9 ring on an SR-1 at 100. So your 3 barrel shoots pretty good. I would suggest getting some SR-1 centers from Champions Choice and using them at 100yds. 25 and 50 don't really say much those are ranges for pistol shooting.

If it will do that, then I am extremely happy with this carbine's accuracy. Since I don't shoot for competition, just enjoyment, that is plenty good enough for my purposes. On later groups I simply raised my POA a bit and got hits in the orange center.
