    A-H Mark On Ross Bolt

    Hi guys:

So after stripping this old thing down to the eyeballs and scrubbing...and scrubbing...and scrubbing the bore, I've got one marking I can't identify, and that's an A H struck into the bolt handle. Any thoughts? As well, this rifle has the safety rivet, and I assume that means I can not remove the bolt head from the bolt, correct?

    Thanks.

Is this a full military Mk III or a sporterized one? Where is the AH struck? Can you post a picture or two?

    Thx

Having the rivet allows you to remove the bolt head, you just cannot assemble it incorrectly so it will fire without the bolt lugs being properly engaged. Tom

Mine has OF9 in the same place. My rifle was one of those sent to India, though I don't know if that as anything to do with it. Tom

My guess is that it is a steel batch number or heat treat lot number.
    Anybody got anything definitive?
