    Announcement Swiss style matches in eastern PA

    Last year our rifle club ran Swiss style rifle matches in Bucks county PA @ 100 yards (91.4 Meters). We use scaled Swiss targets. We are located right at the county seat in Doylestown PA, accessible from Route 611 and Route 202, actually we are just off both roads.

    We give out metals and certificates based on scores. One need not be a member of the club to shoot or get awards. The awards are not Swiss recognized, but require the same scores.

    This year, if we have sufficient interest we will be adding pistol qualifications @ 25 Meters. These qualification shoots will only be run if we have some interest, but we have the 50 M scaled targets set up and ready to go, both the P4 and P10 targets.

    We are running the program again this year, from March through November. Below find some of the highlights of the program:

    2015 Match dates edition: 10th February 2015

    4th Saturday of each month, March through November: 2nd Saturday in December fun shoot, lunch and awards. Start time 11:30~12:00 (after regular CMP rifle match)
    Cost: 5.00 for days entire series (4 matches) CMP shooters can fire one match free.
    Match location: Bucks county Fish and Game sportsman’s club

    Rules:

    Rifles and sights:

    Ordnance rifle: Any Swiss service rifle in caliber 7.5x55 or 5.6 x 45 utilizing sights and accessories that are approved by the Swiss shooting federation. Rifles that may be used at our matches are: G11, K11, K31, PE57, PE90 and SIG551, with any Swiss approved metallic sights or similar equivalent. Not allowed: STGW 57 without NFA papers.

    Standard rifle: Iron-sighted, manual action rifle that meets US NRA, Scandinavian FSR or Swiss SSV requirements in any cartridge with a nominal bore between 7.49mm and 7.64 mm

    Trigger weight: G11, K11, K31, Standard rifle: 1300 Grams (2.86 lbs)
    PE57, PE90, SIG 551 2200 Grams (4.84 lbs)


    Individual equipment;

    Any and all NRA approved shooting accoutrements may be utilized. For shooters required to shoot without support (match diopters) , a packed elbow/non-firing hand forearm bag may be used, as long as the support is only used for the elbow or fore-arm and the non-firing hand or wrist does not rest upon the support. Kneeling rolls are allowed in Meisterschaft.

    Approved slings are the leather M11, M31, Swiss leather weave, M57 and web M90 or equivalent. No M1907 slings allowed. Shooters may use sling support in any match. Slings, while they must be Swiss pattern, may be utilized in the US format, Swiss hasty-sling format or Swedish hand-sling support format. In all cases one end of the sling must be attached the rifle.
    Conduct of matches

    Shooters with match diopter sights may only use the sling and/or elbow support in Obligatorish and Feldschiessen matches. Shooters using issue sights may use a non-firing hand rest (hand rests on the support) or bipod (issue pattern) in the Feldschiessen and Obligatorisch matches only. Rests must be packed knapsacks or sandbags, no bench-reset equipment allowed. Einselwettschiessen and Meisterschaft must be fired with sling support only.

    Prior to start of matches a 10-minute zeroing period will be allowed. After the zeroing period all shots are for record. Matches will be fired in the following order: Obligatorisch, Feldschiessen, Einselwettschiessen, Meisterschaft:


    Awards:

    Obligatorisch, Feldschiessen and Einselwettschiessen:

    Certificates will be presented to shooters who achieve the scores shown in table 1 below. Certificates will be issued each time the shooter achieves a score above the stated minimum. Certificates will be available at the next regular match
    Shooting medals will be awarded once per year. At the end of the last match in (November) all of the scores above the medal mark will be tallied. The shooter in each match with the highest series will receive a gold engraved medal and every individual above the medal cut off an engraved Silver medal.

    Meisterschaft:
    At the end of the last match in the year (November) all of the scores above the medal mark will be tallied. The shooter with the highest score in each class will receive a gold engraved medal, the 2nd place an engraved silver medal and the 3rd and below an engraved bronze medal.
    Medals will be presented at the December CMP lunch. Medals not picked up will be mailed.

    5 rounds slow-fire prone position at A5 target
    5 rounds, slow-fire, prone position at B4 target
    2 rounds in 20 seconds, prone position at B4 target
    3 rounds in 30 seconds, prone position at B4 target
    5 rounds in 1 minute, prone position at B4 target

    Feldschiessen: (ordnance rifle only) 18 rounds (91.4 Meters)
    6 rounds slow-fired prone position at B4 target
    3 rounds in 1 minute, prone position at B4 target
    3 rounds in I minute, prone position at B4 target
    6 rounds in 1 minute, prone position at B4 target

    Einselwettschiessen: (ordnance/standard rifle) 10 rounds (91.4 Meters)
    10 rounds in 10 minutes, prone position, slow fire at A10 target

    Meisterschaft: (ordnance/standard rifle) 30 rounds (91.4 Meters)
    10 rounds in 10 minutes, prone position, slow fire at A10 target
    10 rounds in 10 minutes, standing position, slow fire at A10 target
    10 rounds in 10 minutes, kneeling position, slow fire at A10 target
