Swedish Mauser stock

Howdy all. I have this Swedish Mauser, a Carl Gustaf 1896 with 1900 on the receiver. What I'm wondering, is it normal for the stock to have the design at the wrist/comb that this gun has. Any pics I looked at seem to show just a gradual curving up from the wrist to the comb. I thought maybe the stock was refinished/modified as it has a glossier type finish plus it's in very nice condition. Mind you there is some wear to the bluing on the barrel but the receiver, trigger guard and bands have very nice bluing. I can see no evidence of sanding anywhere and the wood to metal fit, along with the contours on the forearm channels and top hand guard does not look like any sanding was done. I took the hand guard and stock off and the numbers in the wood match the gun. In fact, all numbers on the gun match except the cleaning rod. If the wood was replaced at some point, would they restamp matching numbers into it? The interior of the wood is in very nice condition.

That's a mod done somewhere along the way. Some civilian owner I'd wager... The brass buttplate looks out of place too. I may be wrong on that one though.

The buttplate isn't brass. The camera flash makes it appear that way.
I sort of figured the comb area wasn't typical but I wasn't sure if there were variances in certain years. I am surprised though how nice the wood is internally for 115 years old.

The wood isn't 115 yrs old. Its a replacement stock that could've been installed up into the 1980s.

Mine arn`t like that, does it have a stock disc ?.......................

Yes, it has a stock disc. As mentioned, I removed the barrel and the numbers stamped into the wood match the rest of the gun. But I suppose they could have been stamped in. There is no doubt that something has been done.
