New to me Czech VZ-24 with Lion Crest

    Hello Milsurp Friends!

Several moneths ago, I had posted that I was searching for a decent VZ-24 Czechicon rifle. Well, I finally got one!

It has a nice, strong Lion Crest on top of the receiver and an "E (lion) 38" Czech military acceptance mark above a rather neat serial number.

The bolt is bright and not matched. The stock is not matched, either. It came with the sight protector and the cleaning rod. I do not know how old the finish is. There is plenty of blueing and there appears to be a spot at the serial number here the blue is worn. Seems like from a thumb, as that is where my thumb is if I hold he rifle at that point. The barrel is in good condition...NOT counter-bored,but dark grooves.

The rifle shoots well and I have have the sights set to group at 100 yards. Used PPU 8mm Mauser, 196gr FMJBT. Oh....purchased on Gunbroker.com last November for $350 (including shipping).

I am quite pleased with the rifle. Here are some pics.

Nice VZ, even if it has been refurbished. Accepted by the Czechicon army in 1938. Too bad it can't talk.

All taken into Germanicon depots. Lots of history for this one.
