    Question OT- Donate U.S. Flag

    Sorry for off topic.
I have an American flag from my uncle's burial I would like to donate to an organization in need. I have looked online at the "donate flag" site with no success.

    Anyone have a need for the 5' x 9' (I believe 9') U.S. Flag?

    TIA

    Jim,
At my fire department, we occasionally use a flag suspended between two ladders (arched aerial ladders) for ceremonies and funerals. While many time we borrow a much larger flag, sometimes short notice or weather prohibit getting the larger flag. If no veterans organization has use for your uncle's flag, we would be honored to use it.

Endless apologies if you already knew this: contact your local VFW or other service organization.

In my area, the cemetary association in conjunction with other service organizations uses donated flags to decorate the grounds during appropriate national holidays. They are properly stored and reused each year and displayed with attribution.

    Best wishes. Dave

    Thanks Dave
I am going to send it to Tom's Fire Department in PA, they are in need so this will serve them well.
