    Pisco, can you check the prefix? 1940 should be a B, not an E.

    hi muffett it is definitely a E unless the year stamp on the wrist is not 1940 i can make out 194 easy enough i would post a picture but i can not

    Pisco, thanks for the pic, it looks like the bottom loop of a 3, another way of telling if it is 1940 or '43 is to look at the proof marks on the left of the receiver, pre 1941 D series had the crown GR over L and crossed sceptres

    Post D series 1941 the proof mark was simplified dropping the GR.
