My Pride and Joy Kar 98k

This is my Kar 98k bnz.43 (RC). I have worked to restore this rifle to look how it did when it left the factory. I have scrounged the correct waffenampt 77 parts for nearly the entire rifle. Only parts are the bolt body and the stock is a sauer. I left the stock because it is the nicest stock I have ever seen on a Russianicon Capture. It is extremely accurate and is the rifle I hold most dear.

Nice looking Steyr. I noticed the front sight hood. Did you actually find one of the Bnz hoods that are really wide? Or maybe it is just the photos make it look that way. If so, you did well, they are hard to find. Looking for one myself for a BNZ 41.

Mike, it is not one of the more circular Steyr hoods, when I researched '43 Steyr's the ones that retained hoods did not have the rounded hood on them, I believe I ran across only one very early '43 that did. Mine is P block so I end with the more common type. The hood, cleaning rod and locking screw are all original, the locking screws are even the mid war round head with no relief cut. I've seen them on eBay quite a bit, just have to be patient.
