A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. Great picture. I recognized that background as Venafro, I have a picture of my Dad there in late November 1943.

I had a chance to visit Venafro a couple years ago. I walked through a huge French icon

and North African (French Moroccan, Algerian, Tunisian) cemetery there in Venafro. Christians on one side of the hedge and their Muslim allies on the other side.

Monte Cassino is a few miles away. That was amazing to visit too, both because of its WWII significance and as St. Benedict's monastery.
