    IHC Head Space Issue?

Who might be the NJ resident expert on Garands? I have a IHC that pops primers and breaks cases. If possible, and the individual is willing, I'd like to drop it off, have it looked at/repaired and pick it back up when finished. I've been told it needs a new bolt as there is a head space issue but I have no gauges to test and am not familiar with the details of the Garandicon. Thank you for any considerations.

It does sound like headspace...you may not be able to just drop it off, you might have to ship it off and then it'll come back sorted...

I was thinking of sending it to CMPicon but if it does need a different bolt, I'd like it to be a IHC one if possible and don't know if CMP would bother with that detail. I figured between NJ and eastern PA, someone might be willing to make some money to have a look and possibly make the needed repairs/parts changing. I can supply any test fire ammo required.

Problem is a good COMPETENT gunsmith. Fact is you can have a certificate and very little actual knowledge...you can for sure find those. CMPicon will likely put in an IHC bolt if they have one. They'd be more likely to have little parts than anyone. They for sure know how...and will trouble shoot it while it's there...

I suggest Orion7, Tony is great at that stuff and he would have the right IHC bolt if it is necessary.
