    Krag stock info

    Hi Guys need some info on thsi stock from the gun parts mess i am dealing with, it had old paper tag which stated ( krag carbine take off ) want to make sure what it is before i list it for sale not sure if it is a r or p on pistol grip area

    Looks like a rifle cut down take off to me. Full size pics will help, but I'm pretty sure. The front end of a carbine is nothing like that.

    hi will add some more pictures the lenght of the stock is 29 1/4 inches long with end having cuts for barrel band,

    A krag carbine stock doesn't look like that at the front end. It's rounded. Here's mine, but it's a bit far away... I suggest that one is a cut down rifle. Can you just take a pic of the whole stock end to end? I think a carbine stock is 32 1/4" overall.

    It looks like a M1892 / 96 cut-down rifle stock to me. Is it inleted for a butt sling swivel ? Just saw the last two pics the OP posted...has a cut out for sling swivel, is a cut-down rifle stock.

    It is a cut down '92 rifle stock that had been converted to '96. You can see a portion of the filler still at the front. John
