This is Great Sight to look at the WW2 Top 10 USGI Weapon.

Interesting how this site has a deep bias for Army infantry weapons. It begs the question why so many other weapons were NOT mentioned, such as :
-artillery shells that carried the Proximity Fuse, which Eisenhower said shortened the war by 1 1/2 years (and enabled us to shoot down V-1 rockets launched from Antwerp and Kamikaze planes in the Pacific from our cruisers and destroyers).
- the MaDeuce machine gun used by army and USAAF in warplanes almost universally (we even had them mounted topside on our ship in Vietnam they were so good)
- Bombs used over Germany, and, of course, the atom bomb.

Guess any source that used this unique spelling must not be the most authoritative:

Just noticed this thread and checked the link.

Not sure I'd put much credence in their info if they list actors from the TV series "Combat" as soldiers (Kirby with the BAR, and Hanley with the M1).

Geeze! Who ever wrote that diatribe sure never heard of proof reading or checking his sources for accuracy!
The way all of that reads almost makes me wonder if English is Not his primary language?
