    Classified concerns and questions

Thanks to mil surp for letting us CSPicon transfers have a home. I'm also glad to see that we will have our own classified section even though I enjoy looking at the mil surp classified also. But I think we need to remember the laws concerning transfer of firearms and parts between Canadaicon and the US. Let us be reminded that there are pretty severe restictions and could be a potential felony in the waiting for a innocent transaction. Could some one in the know refresh us as to the legalities with our Canadian friends regarding gun parts. Thanks Truman

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I will accept PayPal, Zelle, MO and good old checks (and cash if you want to stop by for a tour!). CLICK BANNER to send me a PM for International pricing and shipping. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). Several of our scopes are used in the CMP Vintage Sniper competition on top of 1903 rifles. Brian Dick ... I have bought some gas cylinders from our Northern friend, John R. Didn't have a problem. I think he explained that it had to be less than $100, don't quote me on that. Hopefully he will chime in here soon. (When has he ever remained silent for long?)

Other than that, don't try to buy any of their M-14's from North of the Border. Even though we paid for them, we can't have them.

    U.S Customs tell me:
    NO RECEIVERS
    NO BARRELS
Some variables on "Critical Parts" but gas cylinders and things like clip latches and rear sight parts and bolts and bolt guts and op-rods and action parts like followers are all just ho-hum according to the "Gun Expert" with the rank on his collar.
An interesting comment from him was"Look,we KNOW that you collectors and shooters are NOT the problem we face. So just don't try to pull any fast ones and all will be cool".Kind of heartwarming that was or so I thought.I don't have any receivers to sell and I sold out of barrels two years ago so no problems.I was recently told that the $100 limit has been UPPED to $500 as well.Canadaicon IS fighting with NATO in Afghanistan after all and to date we have lost 111 of our FINEST.G*d Bless them all.JR
