    A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered.  Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle.     I know the feeling. When I first went to the Royal Military College of Science" ('RMCS') at Shrivenham with H.M. Customs & Excise I was astounded at the collection they had. Unfortunately I was NOT allowed to take pictures!

    The last I heard, most of it was all in crates pending a move so that the building that it is in can be renovated.

    That's a pity the collection is being broken up. Like Spike I have many pictures of my time there. They had some Aussie stuff there I would like to have.

    I was supposed to be posted there '94-'96...from Gagetown NB small arms school. Didn't make it though, always a sad memory for me. I'd have loved to have done time there.
