    Bren Transit Chest Blue Prints?

Does any-one happen to have a set of engineering drawings/blue prints for the BREN TRANSIT CHEST that they would like to share with us, please. I would prefer original MOD drawings if available or failing that a modern interpretation. I have taken a look a the No4 sniper rifle chest plans available on this site and some of the fittings etc are probably the same such as the hinges catches etc. The Bren Transit Chest seem to be in very short supply now and the ones that are available seem to be very expensive. It doesn't seem long ago when they were being almost given away. I thought about having a go at producing a one for myself. Thanks

Gil: I think he wants drawings for the Bren Chest. Aren't yours for the sniper chest?

I picked up a fair pile of Bren Chests last fall. After watching them rot out in a field for decades on decades, I couldn't take it anymore. There were some decent ones hiding in the middle of the pile, and some would fall apart when you tried to pick them up. Shame you are on the other side of the pond, as my price on them is quite reasonable.....shipping would be a killer though. I do make the hardware available from the lesser cases at a reasonable cost, and postage on those won't break the bank.

Surely its only the internal layout and padding thats different, the transit outer sizes of the case as I always understood it were identical or have I been mislead?
Leather straps UKicon side, strapping Canadaicon side and the hinges were different as well across the pond

Where in the UKicon are you?
There should be some Been chests at the war and peace show in Folkestone next month... Or I know where there are some in Kent or North Yorkshire. Various conditions/price.

    Tanky,
Whats the difference other than internally on the two comparison chests.....Bren/SniperNo 4 I always believed the hinges and leather straps were they same except for the Caanadian made ones?

Ill still have the raw scans I did from the half plate negatives they let me sign out. Somewhere. All I had to use was a domestic scanner , and this was back in the days when you had to pay more thn we had for a really good scanner. Ill see if I can find them.

Internally the bits are all different and externally the rifle box is much narrower than the Bren one.

Also got the chest drawings for the Besa 7.92, Besa 15mm, Vickers K/GO ( which was converted from the Vickers and Lewis Chest ) the one for the Vickers Berthier, internal parts for the 2" mortar chest, 10 x 100rd Bren mag and 4 x 100 rd bren mag boxes and various hinges and fittings. There's various ones for modifications as well and a sheet on woods to b used and war time alternatives.
