    Persian mauser bolt handle

    Hi,

Today I've seen a nice persian mauser (98/29) and I have noticed that the bolt handle was bended downward. There are no farsi number on it, only a 3 digit serial... I know that 98/29 should have straight handle, so I wonder if someone could explain me why this one has a bended handle... Bubba? The rifle is in very good shape and the serial should be a "y" followed by 4 digits...

    Thank you

    Not enough information!

That sounds as if it is either a Bubba job or the bolt is a mismatch.
For instance, If the knob on the bolt handle is knurled on the bottom surface, then it could be a bolt from the carbine version.

But you have omitted to provide the most fundamental information: does the number on the bolt handle match the rifle?
A photo of the bolt handle and number would be a very good idea as well!

Hi, unfortunatly the battery of my phone was quite dead: next week I will go to the shop and ask to take some photos.
I think the bolt is mismatched, but I'm not sure because it has no farsi character (it has only a 3-digit number) and I cannot compare it with the farsi serial on the receveir. On the receveir there is also an alphanumeric serial stamped by italian proof house: it doesn't match with the one on the bolt, but I can't say if it is a translation of the farsi serial or an arbitrary one choosen by the proof house...

Hi, finally I post some photos of the bolt (despite of the ugly camera of my phone)....
The serial on the stock should be translated in Y6192 (from right to left) and it match with the one on the receiver but not with the bolt (which has all the component matching 2793). What do you think about it?

    Thank you!

Standard Model or K98kicon bolt? Can you make a better picture (4th picture) of the marking on the bolt?

All the photos of that particular are not correctly focused/detailed... I will try to take another one next time...
