    shooting high

I took my "school gun" to the range today. Was shooting about 11" high with the rear sight in the down position, slide all the way to the hinge (1901 sight). The front blade is .630 tall from the barrel.
How much taller do I need to make the front blade to bring it into the black (SR-1 @100yds)?

Multiply the tangent of 11 minutes by the sight radius in inches. This will give the additional height needed for the sight. The tangent of 1 minute is 0.00029.

    For example, if sight radius is 20": 11 x .00029 x 20" = .064"

Use the aperture instead of the notch and you can probably set the sight lower, possibly avoiding this exercise.

John, S&S sells a high drop in front sight. I put them on all my Kragicon shooters.
Takes care of the shooting high problem.
