Have you considered letting the military vehicles and other things (thread 8) go first? I ask because there are very probably a LOT more of those other things and vehicles than complete L42's.. And easier to collect late if you should feel the need again.

Kind regards to your wife too.

My opinion is that things are just that. Things. It makes it none easier to part with them but it is fortunate that you have some of these things to disperse when going through a very tough time with a family member. Best wishes for a good outcome.

Thanks for your support everyone. Anyone that is interested in being notified of its listing, send me a pm. I will notify you. I understand that many forums do not allow links to other listings.

Much respect to this forum and the folks that participate. I can tell very quickly that this is a site hosted by true collectors with integrity in information and backed by a purpose of preservation.

Regardless, I am getting a photopack together this weekend. I will post them for view and record.

The photo limit was 75 so I added the scope can in this batch.

Everything's just about new. The telescope is about the best I've ever seen and the leather of it's carrying case almost unmarked...

1 RWF REME is the Armourers workshop of 1st Royal Welch Fusilliers.
On the down side, the fore-end and handguard look like they've been sanded to within an inch of their lives, especially at the front. Not unusual with those rifles remaining at the end but can easily be rectified with a bit of care - and new parts in this instance. Gone past the patching stage I'm afraid.

The rear end of the fore-end looks like it's been got at with some polyfilla material to pack it out. Or am I seeing things!

The rifles weren't(?) released with the IIW brackets (which is missing here in any case) because the brackets were removed prior to disposal as they were codified as part of the L1 IIW/night vision kit. That said, some were disposed of with the brackets in the chest. Others have been added later of course. The irony of this was that in truth, the IIW bracket was a one-trick-pony and was ONLY any use with the L42 (and No4T of course..., but.....) and never formed part of the L1A1 - 7 IIW CES in any case! But there you go!

I do not understand why this post was moved. This post was meant to be a photo resource for the core forum. There is no value or sales language in the original post.

Hello Peter, Fultons have one for sale at the moment, and they are asking 9500K pounds! If that is what they are going for in the UKicon I will have to win the lottery to get one.
