You guys sure got the right answer, and right away too. I saw a 30 Kurz conversion of the M1icon carbine back in the 70's, had a new longer barrel
installed and the bolt face opened-up. I thought it was too much for that carbine action and would never even consider shooting one. The Johnson
and similar 22/30M1 carbine conversions work out without much trouble (3000 fps from a 40 gr bullet). Another conversion was the Vulcan pump
    action M1 carbine in 44 Magnum !

That 30 Kurz sure is a neat looking little round. Wonder how much it has in common with the new-ish 30 Remington AR cartridge.
Saw a Inland carbine at a gun show 7 or 8 years ago in .41 Magnum, IIRC the original barrel had been bored to .41 cal and it was still a semi auto.
There was a guy supposedly converting carbines to .45 Win Mag about 25 years ago but I've never ran across one.

I'd like to see what the 30 Kurz would be like in the AR platform.
    Regards, Jim

Photo shows the 5,56x30mm (30 Kurz is 7,62x33mm) new third world
design. Really too small for the AR system
