A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Manufacturer of various vintage rifle scopes for the 1903 such as our M73G4 (reproduction of the Weaver 330C) and Malcolm 8X Gen II (Unertl reproduction). It's just the quaint English bent for diplomacy Brian. A bent that I feel is becoming less common by the day, especially around these parts of Oxfordshire!

I have informed the seller that the scope and bracket are repros, and given her a link to this thread. Hope she does the decent thing.

Wel done Prinz for spotting this. RobD can I ask how do we know it's a HER? I notice the ad says the stuff is in Northern Ireland and the name does not seen to indicate a female. It does annoy me that ebay do not insist on ALL traders having contact details on their adverts. The NO feedback as a seller is certainly a bit odd looking at the total number of transactions, as is the fact that you cannot see what any of the purchases were. Ad was still up 03:43 hrs 7th Sep U.K. time.

From the description given of the items it would seem the seller had at least a basic understanding of No 4 T's and the Holland & Holland connection, in which case you would think that they should have known the items were all majority repro stuff. To my simple reasoning it would indicate that they more than likely knew the items were not legit but were trying to pass off anyway. As has posted by others, will be interesting to see if items resurface at later date and how they are then described.

    Been re-listed - starting price now £500

    No4T Sniper Set. | eBay

    With following quoted by seller:

Last time I listed this I thought it was genuine and I paid the price for a genuine set, I've since been advised that it's not, I've no way to check this.
I bought this to make my self a mock up No4T rifle, a few years ago..
The scope be it genuine or not is the best No42 I've looked threw, it's all there to make yourself a mock up No4T,
    As per pictures.
Id never sell as genuine, as I was advised it wasn't, as it was sold to me as genuine.
I find it still very hard to believe it's all repro as it looks all good to me.
I don't know if this was a trick to lower the price and put other buyers off, as I've heard of this happening before.
No proof of it being reproduction was supplied - just someone's view/knowledge ???
But ill realist with a lower start bid, buyer please be aware that it might not be genuine.
