Low 5 Digit Inland

Now that I'm getting the hang of posting pix, here is a grouping of a 5 digit Inland that I just picked up in a recent deal, along with four others.

And the rest of them. Yes, I know the nut doesn't go with the barrel band. That's how I received it. The threads around the screw hole are worn and I don't have my tools with me to peen the metal back in around it to tighten it up. This is the first time that I have seen a bolt with "SC" stamped on it and the only thing I can come up with from War Baby is possibly Standard Computing Scale Co.. It's definitely not "SG" with a leg missing and the font is wrong for that anyway. Just to top it off, once I get back home, I have a wide cap oiler to fit the "I" cut stock. Cheers, Bruce.

That's what I gathered by the butt plate, too unworn for the condition of the barrel. Still, it all seems to be correct for the period, from what I can tell. The ME gauge almost bottoms out and it's fractions from seating on the NO-GO, but she still groups, though 7" to the right at 100 yds. Any ideas of worth? Thanks, Bruce.

The bolt is marked with what looks like SG????

Bruce, Take a look at the second picture of the markings on the bolt. It is "SC" with no leg for "G". The ends of the "C" stop clearly at the ends. I've put it under a magnifying glass (10X) and can find no indication of a "G". Also, like I said before, the font is wrong for "SG". Cheers, Bruce.

The Standard Computing Scale bolts were marked SI I believe. They (Inland marked SI bolts) weren't seen for very as their work shifted to helping IBM as mentioned above. I tend to think it's a SG bolt too, but it does look odd for some reason.

Yes, looks odd, like they used either two stamps or the letters were canted on the stamp if it was a single stamp. Looked up in War Baby and SI was used on Saginaw provided receivers along with SG, but nothing else for SI. IMHO after looking at the lower end of the "C", it ends and is deep enough that if there were a leg for the "G", it would give some indication of that line also. The picture shows an "SG" marked recoil plate. I set it beside the clearest pix I have of the bolt markings. The font is different than the one that is on my bolt, and I think they would have used the same die makers for their stamps for small parts. Again MHO. Cheers, Bruce.

Well, Looked on line and found an SG marked bolt. It's font looked like this SG but the same size and not as bold. Cheers, Bruce.
