Video showing WW2 relics being recovered

    Hi all

Following on from my recent posts about the finds made at a Britishicon army camp site, I have put together a video of the dig and the finds.

    Hope you enjoy watching.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. I've often thought that doing an 'archeological' dig of the Tobruk or El Alamein battlefields would be fantastic. However, that is something that I would forego given the region's present 'political' climate.

Indeed. It would be a smidgen dangerous.........

Interestingly, before they found the oil, much of Libya's economy post WW2 was based on the export of iron.........from the left overs of the battles.
