Hi Patrick,
I'm seriously considering having a closer look at this Navy. I've included the following text which I found on the internet about Henry Hume, I have quite a number of pieces about him now. Unfortunately, he didn't get the VC.
"Colonel Hume served the Eastern campaign of 1854-55 with the 95th Regt. including the battles of the Alma (wounded, horse killed under him, and mentioned in despatches) and Inkerman (severely wounded— shot through the thigh), siege and fall of Sebastopol, and a sortie on 26th October in command of the Regiment; he succeeded to the command of the Regiment at Inkerman, and received the Brevet of Lt.Colonel and (Medal with three Clasps, C.B., Knight of the Legion of Honour, 4th Class of the Medjidie, and Turkish Medal). Was recommended for a Victoria Cross by Lt.General Sir De Lacy Evans for an act of special and useful valour at an important moment at the battle of the Alma in having seized a Colour and led over the bridge, the officers previously bearing it having been struck down by the enemy's fire.”
I'd love to find a photo of him.
Ian.

Hi Ron,
I found another photo of this same Captain Hume, but unfortunately it's not Henry Hume. The Captain Hume in the photo is a different Hume and he was in a different regiment. Thanks for trying though, help is always appreciated.
Ian.
