    Bought a No1MkIII* in .22 today

Picked up this rifle from a friend today. As usual he gave me a good deal and he had two. I picked this one as it has the Cooey No.10A sight. Very clean gun and should be a good shooter.

Why use a 50 pound bomb when a 500 pound bomb will do?

When would that one have been converted then - ie in service or subsequently?

I am thinking post service due to the non standard markings. Nice rifle too. I also have one of the cooey sights on a No2Mk4, got the sight for 60 cdn at the HACS show several years back.
