Does anyone else flush their bronze bore brushes in hot water after use? I find it helps protect the bristles from the ravages of copper solvent and helps my treasured (and difficult to acquire over here) Parker Hale brushes last a wee while longer. Or is it just my imagination?

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. I have two small containers full of mentholated spirits in the range gun box, one is for the brushes just rinse them in it inside the jar pull out then air dry, after patching out the solvent I then use the clean metho on a patch to neutralize the copper solvent patching out, letting the bore air dry (matter of seconds) then oil the bore......

Thank you all for the advice and comments. Just got my Dewey one piece coated rod yesterday. What a beauty ! Comes with Jag and adapter. Appears to swivel on ball bearings. Took three days to arrive by regular shipping. Precut patches are great but - what better end for a T shirt ?

    Thanks again, Kab

Great choice Kablair. Bought my first Dewey rod in .22 for my first AR. Was so impressed I ordered a .30 for my milsurps together with one of their Parker Hale style jags. Stiffer than my actual Parker Hale .30 rods, which are now relegated to bronze brush duty.
