Webley Mark III .38 S&W Slugged Results

Finally, after all my experimental reloading, I slugged the barrel. A nice video on YouTube using the brass case to melt some lead shot, and the use of a bullet puller, pushed me forward.
I had started out with .361 bullets, which didn't work, and ended up with .358, which are fine. Trial and error was not the way to go. Weight ranged from 148gr to 158gr.

The bore diameter (lands) slugged out at .356. I should have done that first. A long learning experience.
Also learned that the Brits measure bore diameter, like .303 and the Yanks use groove diameter, like .308. More confusion. It's a lot easier to measure the lands than the grooves.

Did the Brits barrel Enfields in .308 groove diameter, or did they come from the U.S.?

I have been unable to find out if the diameters for .38 S&W were different by year (mine is 1937 commercial), or model, or random.

But it's the groove diameter you need, so you fill the bore. Or you get blow by and bullets stuck in the barrel.

The War Finish .38 Mk.IVs slug differently to the commercials. (I don't have the numbers handy.)
