A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. I think you did good. That is the actual Mauser 1903 type produced by Japanicon. You need to check it to see if it is marked for the ammo upgrade before trying to get ammo for it. Not exactly sure what to look for.

One indicator is that they ground the rear sight ramp down to match the new trajectory. Otherwise I am not very well versed in these rifles at all.

This is a T-46 Siamese rifle, it has been called the 1903 Siamese Mauser for many years but was officially designated the T-46. Your rifle was reworked to fire the 8X52 R cartridge. Frank Allan, Patrick Hernandez and Roger Wakelam have written a book on these and other Siamese marked weapons. An up dated version available. It is a Banzai Special Report No. 1 Revised Edition and can be purchased at ggruth42@gmail.com. They also made a carbine version called the T-47.

The bayonet it takes is the 1902 or Type 35 bayonet. Looks like a standard Mauser bayonet with a muzzle ring close to the blade and siamese script on the blade. Often has oval washers on the handle screws as they were made in Japanicon.

Very nice. I have one in original chambering 8X50R with an unaltered sight ramp. This and a GEWicon 88 in original chambering are 2 guns I'd like to cast boolits and hand load for, soon. PAX
