Will a VZ24 hand guard fit an M48?

Found another nice M48. The hand guard has been cut off in front of the rear sight, and finished nicely. Probably the dreaded "break/cracking" sometimes encountered when removing the guard. So far I have found ONE on the net. I have found several VZ24,s at much cheaper prices.
    Thanks!

I think the rear band is farther back on a vz24.

It is. The VZ24 hand guard is thinned about 3 inches further back for the barrel band.

I took mine out to compare. They appear to be the same length and both appear to have the same fit around the rear sight. The M48 guard is beefier. So, you could probably make a VZ24 out of an M48 guard but not the other way around. Now I did not take them off to see if they would fit so I wouldn't recommend doing it without a bit more research.

Thanks for the info, Guys. I'll just keep on searching for another M48 guard and just leave this one alone for now. I'm not going to sell it anyway, just a shooter.
