Trouble determining the date of manufacture for a Chinese SKS

    Hello All,

I have been searching for information on a Chinese sks and have yet to find enough to properly date the rifle.

Reading left to right on the left side of the breach it has the triangle symbol, followed by three Chinese characters followed by a six digit serial number beginning with 00. I have found some information on six digit sn's but none that begin with 00. All the sn's on the rifle match so I am confident it was not pieced together out of various production runs.

Does anyone have any additional info on what this might indicate as far as date of manufacture or specific model characteristics?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

The only Type 56s that are able to be dated are the 'triangle 26' rifles, if the info I've always been told is correct.
