    Win. 1897 Riot ???

    Hi
    Could use some info on some marking. Will be getting a 1897 shotgun With a 20'' barrel no military stamps. Markings
    ser.# 513xxx, CYL on the barrel, solid rec. not take down. hard rubber butt. Would any one know what this stamp is on the receiver & stock S Q P & also on the stock #'s 367.

    Will be putting lots of pics up when I get the gun in. Thanks for any info.

    The shotgun was made in 1910. This is just a wild guess, but perhaps the SQP mark is for San Quentin Prison in California.

    Thanks for the info. & date. I when't & check google on San Quentin prison. Could not find any thing on the 1897 stamps SQP but look at famous inmates. Merle Haggard I have some of his records & another actor I really like in western when I was a kid. Leo Gordon. Brought back good memories.
