Fake or Real?

Need help with this stock cartouche --- is it real or fake? Recently purchased a Saginaw Gear carbine, sn# 3253xxx. The stock is very nice -- almost too nice. Stock is a Type II, oval highwood, marked RSG with a flaming bomb in the sling well, so it appears to be correct, but I'm not sure if the cartouche is real or not.

IMHO If something looks that New on a Carbine ask LOTS of questions. Remember your buying a Carbine that's 70+ years Old and if he doesn't answer any of them or something sounds shady be careful. There some Great people here and show some pictures here if you can before you buy. There's a lot of guys here with tons of knowledge that will help anybody out.

do indeed know that those images are flawed but wanted to show the flame that I think his cartouche should have.

I was at a show this past weekend and was tempted to buy a QH stock but the cartouche was so crisp and detailed and the QRMC in the slingwell was so well stamped and perfect I had to pass on it for those reasons. Stock had a brass pin repair on either side of the recoil nut area, good size chip out of the butt plate area and apparently had been refinished. So why was the stock used but the markings picture perfect????

You answered your own question. The little guy in your head said no.

I have seen some very nice stamps, so nice some might question them. But they were on very nice stocks as well. No sanding, chips or repairs.
