Left is the Britishicon 4,85, Winchester 224 E2 and the Remington 222 SPECIAL, the British 4,85 is shown for comparison

The 224 E2 Winchester was developed for the Winchester Lightweight Rifle based on a larger M1icon carbine action and gas system. The 224E2 could be fired in the AR-15 but the AR-15 cartridge (known as the 222 REM Special) could be fired in the Winchester,

Winchester Lightweight Rifle in 224 cal

    Attachment 67907

Photo shows the Winchester Lightweight Rifle which was submitted by Winchester. It appears to be a larger version of the M1icon Carine and designed to fire the Winchester 224E2 cartridge which is very close to the Remington cartridge.

The Winchester lightweight Rifle: total weight loaded with 20rd magazine 5.5 lbs

    total length 37.6 inches

    length of barrel 20.0 inches
