Hi was given a 1914 pattern luger. Its marked with a 1915 "DWM". Its in pretty rough shape and I believe the previous owner never assembled it properly as it won't cock. I was wondering if there is any business in Canada that specializes in such guns. I would like it restored or at least return it to working condition. The mag is in pretty hard shape and would like a replacement as well. I also found the mag button to be broken.
Navy--- Nice luger! One common mistake when re-assembling a Luger is to not hook the coupling link (#11) under the recoil lever (#29). (numbers refer to Numrich's exploded view drawing part numbers--go to their webste). . You can check to see if this is the issue by pulling up on the toggle and letting it go. It should snap back down and lock the breech under the spring tension. If you don't feel the spring, it is not connected. Check this out and I can explain how to fix it quite easily if that's the problem . Also you can probably find the instructions for dis-assembly/assembly online. It is really quite simple and requires no tools. Oh, also before doing anything remove the magazine and make sure it is unloaded. Please don't refinish this historical piece. It is fantastic as is. NG, The locking lug (small lever at the front left side of frame) appears broken. It's a little hard to see in the photo so I'm not 100% sure. The more I think about it, you are probably correct in getting a Luger specialist to help with dissasemby and analyze your problem. Lugers are pretty quirky and can be damaged (i.e. the locking lug) by improper work. Also I was wondering if this is a numbers matching Luger? Salt Flat
Doesn´t look too bad and very likely there´s nothing wrong that can´t be put right. Is there some damage to the front of the trigger guard? (That would be serious, as you´d need a new frame). With a bit of patienceand some good literature, I´m sure you could get it working again on your own. The Luger Forum (Jan Still) is usually very helpful.
