    This is the classic American military formation known as "Hey diddle diddle, right down the middle." If they're looking for snipers they'll soon find them with this "tactical" formation. They probably didn't even notice the photographer.

    Its funny you mention that, even in modern times, photographers and journalists will get soldiers to pose or stage in unrealistic or downright stupid ways just to take that representative perfect photo.

    Oftentimes when someone is looking or gesturing at something in a overly dramatic fashion there is no one else there, been through a few a Silvia Pecota photo ops and they have always been entertaining.
