    Spring Length

Need help finding the free length of the helical compression housing spring in the main spring housing. The spring I have is 2" long. I think It's the right one but not sure. Any help and comments are welcome.
    TIA,

My new Colt 23lb mainsprings measure 2-1/8 inches . I went through all 4 of my 1911s a month or so ago and replaced all the recoil springs and checked all the other parts for wear . Did not replace any mainsprings , but I could have missed an 1/8 inch shortness thereof among them .

Thanks for the info. I sure that 2" is correct. Thanks for the conformation. Don't worry about an 1/8" of an inch, with my old eyes it's inches I have problems with.
