Yes. I have logged it and I expect the "Lee Enfield" who tracks Long Branch sniper rifles has as well. 1943 Long Branch serial number 39L7716 Wrist stamped for REL scope 10-C (apparently a C No. 32 MK. I) and rifle presently has C No. 32 MK. I scope 271-C.
Previously owned by Adrian BULL, then Roger Payneicon, then to Charnwood in 1996, then Rob HALLAM , sold at auction at Bonhams, then Simon P. (PEMBERTON?), then sold through Highwood Classic Arms. I think that the present owner is "desperatedan" in N.E. Scotland on Milsurps. Of course I could be wrong ...

    No4T Mk1
    Sniper Rifle
    Long Branch 1943
    Calibre .303
    Serial No 39L7716
    Price: £5250

    Commission Sale

Rifle , Scope & Scope Tin are all dated 1943

This rifle is in excellent good condition including the 5-Groove Bore which measures .3035"

We beleive this to be one of the 71 Pre-Production No4Ts Built by Long Branch in 1943

The Scope is a Canadianicon Mk1 dated 1943 by REL (Research Enterprises Ltd)

The scope tin is dated 1943 and also manufactured by REL and comes complete with the sight adjusting tools

The scope is mis- matched to the number on the butt, the butt is showing scope No 10-C and the scope fitted is No 271-C, however this still remains a rare rifle.
The scope Optics are crystal clear and scope functions correctly.

The rear iron sight is Long Branch marked as well.

A Historically Rare Canadian Long Branch No4T

Colin, you're not wrong. I am the current custodian of said rifle. Whilst it seems that it has been together with scope 271-C for quite some time, I've always thought that it would be good to try and find scope 10-C if it still exists. If I recall correctly Peter Laidlericon mentioned in one of his posts that he has worked on a quite a few Mk1 RELs. Something I've been meaning to follow up on.

    Regards

    Kevin

I once knew where 11-C was, it was painted a brownish colour and had the sliding brass eye shade of the MkI's made in the UKicon. At what point R.E.L. abandoned the eyeshade I don't know; one of those features that databases have a way of revealing.

As a newbie here, I wonder if you guys could direct me to the right thread--I am trying to reunite my all matching mint 74L0322 with its mount and scope 4458S... Just in case, If anyone has this mount and/or scope, I will gladly exchange it for mount 74L0201 and scope 4393S (both in excellent condition).
