Sorry about the Country music but here is the box showing its restoration and the original phone and button A and B box for you:

    Thanks Gil,

I was't around when the A B box's were in situ, I do remember using an A B variant in NZicon when I first went there..... its the Armoured Grey one of the late 60's and 70's I,m looking for but If I find the A B one would stick it in.

As for the Country music, think your secrets out now, I know a few Ex Para's who have similar tastes, am sure others here will be supportive..... could be worse you could be into Country and Western

I love country music, but that one with a phonebox video for some reason just didn't do it for me.
Telephone Man by ELO would have been more appropriate

Arrange for some hooligans to steal it, or is the term nick? I have been lead to believe that the UKicon is full of hooligans that nick things all of the time, skulking about with their hoodies, HAIB's and whatnot.

If I can get it done it could be confiscated in the future by the police as stolen property! Think it is best to scrap it out. I will take you out for chips with the scrap money we get. What you think luv??" Problem solved. More range time.

To be honest Steve I,m getting quite attached to it....... probably more than her, for what I,ve got away with in the past and what she has to put up its not a bad trade..

Darren, Nick is the term, but not the easiest things to steal....... think there is more Immigrants now than hooligans......

Its quite safe where it is but if it was on the front drive I've no doubt a certain type of non tax paying, no fixed abode type would be eyeing it up....... *normally drive round in a twin wheel transit pickup with red diesel in the tank.

    * Most in the UK will know who I mean, long story and probably political to others*

Although Injury and weather has had a delay things have started to move, the base/foundation was laid and a break in the weather I managed to strip the roof and top part right back, plenty red oxide primer applied, just about to give the crowns a blast, the one pictured took too long to dig out the paint etc, but a worthwhile job, this still needs a clean and will do the others, in next few days when I get the compressor back and bead blast these and the frames for the glass. (also do some work on the MkV Sten as pictured in the new machine gun forum) last pic you see the difference between the other, although some crowns have faired better than others.

Still looking for a an old hardwood door to use a part to repair the bottom of phone box door.

Are the crowns actually set in the phone box judging from the square surrounding it? I'm thinking replaceable when the Reign changes. I'm sure that the box I exported to Tasmania were part of the main casting.

The earlier K6 with the Tudor Crown was cast in, the Later made box,s had the St Edmunds Crown like mine, with the idea like you say to be able to replace it.

The Tudor Crown Box does fetch more money (if the seller knows what they have) on new refurbed ones there is a £500 difference ......
