I'm sorry I added the pictures of the Sling that I bought, but took them down and added the one that came inside some foam deep in the box.

A Collector's View - The SMLE Short Magazine Lee Enfield 1903-1989. It is 300 8.5x11 inch pages with 1,000+ photo’s, most in color, and each book is serial-numbered. Covering the SMLE from 1903 to the end of production in India in 1989 it looks at how each model differs and manufacturer differences from a collecting point of view along with the major accessories that could be attached to the rifle. For the record this is not a moneymaker, I hope just to break even, eventually, at $80/book plus shipping. In the USA shipping is $5.00 for media mail. Without knowing what the serial starts with, it will be hard to say if the rear sight is original or not. Frank, post some closeup pictures of the rear sight from the top if you can. If it's as late a serial as yous aid it's possible. The Hemphill sight was used sporadically at the end of RMC production.

I took some parts off my Carbine and found so many Rockola Parts I wonder why they used a Inland TH. The Bolt is Rockola , extractor and the Firing pin. There is one problem I don't like, the Flip Safety is loose. I would like to change it or maybe just replace the safety spring. I really don't want to alter any parts, but I do have a Original T2 Push Safety I might try I don't have another Safety Spring or Flip Safety to try to see if it would stay tighter than it is.

Frank: There are (2) different lengths of the spring and plunger assemblies. The longer one should help if you now have the shorter one. - Bob

I think the longer one has (8) coils that you can count between the plungers and the shorter one has (7). Hope I've got that right.

Frank, the plunger/spring length Bob (USGI) mentions is correct. I would check the length on it first and compare it another one you have and see if you note any difference. BTW, I have 3 or 4 carbines with type original type two safeties and they tend to have a bit of slop when you push them side to side. It's not a huge thing, but it is noticeable.
