    Czech Mauser Identification!

    Hey all,
This is my first post on the forum, so please go easy on me. I'm a new collector and just picked up a Czechicon Mauser at a local shop that just bought over 100 milsurp rifles from a collector.
Obviously it is a Czech Mauser, but I would like more information on it (year, etc). The stock does not appear to be original to the rifle as the serial numbers do not match. The barrel, receiver, bolt, etc. all match. I spent 200 on the rifle plus 20 for tax/transfer. Bore is in excellent condition. The bayonet is also not original (scabbard not in photo), but has a lot of character. I'm not sure if the notches mean what I think they mean...
Top handguard is removed because I just stripped the whole rifle and cleaned out (a lot of) cosmolineicon and I haven't replaced it yet.
    Thanks ahead of time!

Awesome, Eaglelord17! I read up and think I have found a match to my markings.
    Thanks!
If anyone has more input on my rifle, let me know.

I wonder if it's ex Iranian/Persian armed forces judging by the way the rear sight is marked? The sight markings look Farsi or Arabic to me and you may be able to find a translation on-line. Have a look at WorldBayonets website as I think they may have a translation for the numbers??? I believe that Iran did purchase Czechicon made bayonets for their Mauser rifles - I have one.

I agree, they are typical Farsi a "diamond" for 0, "inverted heart" for 5 etc, certainly not Arabic, because these are actual Arabic numbers 1,2,3,4,5... LOL

Turkishicon Contract rifle with straight crest, circa 1925-27. My example has a renumbered rear sight leaf.
